With the holiday season around the corner, we’re sharing some ideas for tooth-friendly stocking stuffers you can give your child. It’s a great time to encourage good oral health behavior, introduce them to visiting the dentist, or look forward to future visits from the tooth fairy. Here are a few of our recommendations:

  • Kid-Friendly Toothbrush

If your child is old enough to brush on their own, get them a brand new toothbrush. Considering your toothbrush needs to be replaced every three to four months anyway, now is a great time to do it. Find one that features their favorite character too!

  • Flavored Toothpaste

The idea of using mint toothpaste may seem pretty dull to kids, but there are a wide variety of flavors out there that they can enjoy. Choose one with the ADA seal of approval on it to ensure it’s made with quality ingredients.

  • Fancy Toothbrush Case

When you travel anywhere, it’s important to have a place to put toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, and other dentistry supplies. Get one for your child that they’ll feel proud to take with them wherever they go.

  • Stuffed Toy

If your child is still losing their baby teeth, get them a stuffed toy such as a tooth fairy bear or even a stuffed tooth pillow. It’s a fun item to represent the changes happening in their mouth and something to cuddle up to at night.

  • ToothFriendly Snacks

You certainly don’t have to avoid including treats in their stocking! But make sure it’s good for their oral health. Avoid sticky or overly chewy candies. Instead, get them candies made with xylitol or dark chocolates. Fruits, nuts, and granola are also good to add as well.
