Find the best snacks for your teeth!
So one of the main things that causes cavities is snacking. So, something that we focus on a lot in my practice is teaching parents and kids what snacks are harmful to your teeth and what snacks are healthy for your teeth. So for example, cheese is a really good snack for your teeth because there’s a protein in it that helps prevent cavities. So just making small switches like that. If you choose cheese instead of a granola bar, you can lower your risk of getting decay. So drinks and what kids consume, like via a cup, is one of the main things that can cause cavities as well. So the types of cup we choose is very important, as well as what we put in those cups. So if you’re gonna give your kids something that has sugar in it, like milk or juice, it’s best to do it at mealtime, and then in between meals, we try and avoid anything with sugar.
