We set your kids up for success
Oftentimes, older children, like around 8 or 9 come to us and their parents didn’t realize that they needed to start seeing a dentist at a pretty young age. And so basically, our goal with preventative dentistry is to get kids on the right track. So parents know what to expect what to offer, what foods to avoid, and it helps them be prepared and hopefully avoid problems later in life.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that all children are seen by one year of age or within six months of their first tooth erupting. So around one year old is a great time to bring your kids in. And at that time, we brush their teeth, we apply fluoride varnish. And the most important thing is that we talk to the parents about how to care for the teeth so that we can set your kids up for success.
The other aspect of this is that if we get kids into the office at a young age, they become more comfortable. And so if they haven’t seen us until they’re eight or nine, they’re generally pretty fearful because it’s a new environment and they’re not used to it. So starting your kids early and young at the dentist helps you acclimate them to the whole process. So if that sounds like something you’re interested in, we would love to have your kids come to our office and we’d really enjoy meeting them.
